Implants are by far the most successful way to replace missing teeth.
Studies have shown that implants have a success rate of over 95 % compared to only 80% for dental bridges and 50% for Dentures over 10 years.
Implants are placed on two stages.
The first stage is the surgical phase where a screw like structure is placed inside the bone, and the bone is then left to heal.
A few months later comes the second stage, which is the prosthetic phase, where the overlying restoration is placed.
This restoration could either be a fixed crown or bridge, or a removable denture supported by implants, making it more stable and virtually eliminating all the problems of conventional dentures.
